Miike Snow – Paddling Out (Jacques Lu Cont Remix)

A meeting of four exquisite minds here, specifically Bloodshy, Avant and Andrew Wyatt (who collectively make up Miike Snow) and a true god of electronic music, Stuart Price, under his recently re-emerged Jacques Lu Cont alias.
Price has given Miike Snow’s forthcoming single “Paddling Out” a reworking of some magnitude, being one of the few individuals who can comfortably get away with releasing material that is ostensibly an electro bosh-o-thon circa 2007 and still make it sound essential. That said, a significant contingent of the remix utilises lush, extended and atmospheric synth tones in the style of older M83 to create an excellent build, making it all the more impactive when the track kicks in properly. The single package won’t be out for a month, around the same time that Miike Snow’s new album “Happy To You” drops also, but you can get pre-ordering over at iTunes.
Price is playing XOYO this very evening alongside Busy P and StopMakingMe for Bugged Out colloboration “Reload” promoting his recent single as well as undoubtedly showcasing a shedload of exclusive remixes and productions. Check out details of the event here, then listen to the “Paddling Out” remix, “Reload” and another new track “Church” below. Very pleased indeed to welcome this man back to the fray.
